Starling 10 - exciting news and announcements!

As we turn 10, we look forward to all the excitement of the celebrations, including some very exciting news…

Big news!

We are really pleased to announce that we have been awarded a Grant for the Arts award by Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants to support our work celebrating singing for wellbeing!

As part of our 10th anniversary projects, we will be singing with new groups, exploring exciting new ways that singing can bring people together and boost mental health. The projects will be documented by a professional film-maker and will come together in recording a song written by Starling co-directors Garsin & Shields, and produced by our brilliant friends at Auburn Jam Music. A mini documentary and music video will be premiered at Starling 10, our celebration concert which takes place on April 4th 2020.

We are very grateful to Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants for their support in enabling this important work and the reach it will have in this celebratory year.

Rehearsals

We’ll be kicking of rehearsals for Starling 10, our celebration concert at Cadogan Hall, next week! Each choir will be learning brand new songs and revisiting some classic crowd pleasers too! Get in touch now to find out if we have any taster session spaces left!

Singing Projects

Our workplace choirs continue, working towards participation in Starling 10. If you’re looking for something different to bring to your workplace, get in touch to find out about our workplace choirs and one-off team building or wellbeing singing sessions. Plus as part of our Singing for Wellbeing celebrations, as supported by Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants, we’ll be continuing our work singing in hospitals running music and singing sessions in dementia wards across London. Our singing masterclasses will also lead us to new cities such as York, where we’ll be working with students at the university.

The new year will also bring an exciting opportunity for friends and family of Starling Arts to join us on stage at Starling 10 in the form of The Flock Choir. More details about how to take part will be released soon!

Carol singing

Our annual charity Christmas carol sessions will be taking place around London in December. We’ve come to support a few of our favourite charities over the years, and this year is no exception. We’ll be raising money for The British Heart Foundation and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice at both Charing Cross Rail Station and the prestigious Trafalgar Square! Keep an eye on our What’s On page for more details!

Into 2020…

2020 is a big year for us. Not only will we be turning ten, we’ll be singing with more groups than ever as we record our original song and prepare for the Starling 10 concert. We can’t wait and we hope you can join us to celebrate!
