With Anti-Bullying Week fast approaching, we explore the benefits of using the arts to explore how we can break the silence on Anti-Bullying.
Since 2023, Starling Arts has been partnering with the hit West End musical Wicked and the Anti-Bullying Alliance to help young people find their voice.
This year’s theme of ‘Breaking the Silence’ feels particularly relevant as we continue to bring our collective voices to workshops which bring the idea of anti-bullying into schools using Wicked.
Bullying - whether verbal, physical, social, or online - thrives in silence, and bringing anti-bullying themes to life using the creative arts is a particularly accessible way in. Using drama, movement, and the world of Wicked, our workshops invite participants to build empathy and transform from passive bystanders into active allies.
We offer a number of ways for students to explore our Official Wicked Workshops, with flexible formats designed for schools, youth groups, and community settings:
In-Person Workshops (60–90 minutes): High-energy, facilitator-led drama and music sessions tailored for KS1–KS3 (and adaptable for older groups or leaders).
Online, On-Demand Workshops: Interactive, digital sessions accessible anytime, anywhere. Ideal for assemblies, flexible timetable slots, or remote learning.
Companion Wellbeing Workshops: 60-minute sessions focused on practical tools for physical and mental wellbeing using performing arts techniques.
Together, we can empower young people with the confidence to break the silence and stand up for one another.
